Program: Papermaking for Growth

Artist: Kate Marie Sclavi

Type: Workshops / Residencies

Description

In the Papermaking for Growth workshop, students will learn how to make paper embedded with seeds that can actually be planted in their schoolyard! Students will first learn how to make paper out of recycled paper they will collect from their school, turn it into a pulp, and then create new sheets of paper embedded with plants that will thrive locally. At the end of the workshop, students will consider color, construction, and composition when creating their paper. At the end of the Papermaking for Growth workshop, students will plant their paper so that the seeds will sprout in the future!
