Thank you so much for bringing your talents to The Baldwin School last Friday. Your Arabiqa Assembly was truly one of the best assemblies we have had! You have a gift for entertaining and sharing Arab music, dance, and culture. But even moreso, you are a natural at speaking with children and engaging them in a virtual setting (which we as teachers know is not an easy task!). We received so many favorable comments from students and teachers afterwards and want to let you know you made an impact here at The Baldwin School. We wish you continued success as you share your passion with other school-aged children this year!

Karim Nagi is a native Egyptian and performs on multiple percussion and string instruments from around the Arab world. He describes the history of each instrument, shares how they are made, and writes out the names in Arabic script. In the program, Karim involves the virtual audience with rhythmic clapping, word pronunciation, line dancing, and spontaneous questions.
With humor, acrobatics, articulation, and masterful audience incorporation, Karim makes a point with his percussion. His goal is to give audiences an uplifting impression of Arab and Muslim culture, beyond the news headlines of terror and uprising. As an Arab-American, Karim bridges the East-West cultural gap in the most profound yet entertaining way.
Dates available for in-person performances: April 8-11, 2025
