EVERYONE—teachers, administrators, and of course, the students—thought the performance was AWESOME!! It was wonderful to see our students take “creative risks” on stage, and the laughter, enthusiasm, confidence, and cooperation that Freestyle Repertory Theatre models are such wonderful things for the students to see in action! I’m sure some of the students’ theatrical ambitions have been sparked by today’s performance!

Through the use of good improvisational technique—teamwork, spontaneity, and creative risk-taking—FRT enables students and faculty to explore the world of theatre, with its connection to literature and creative writing, in a new, enlightening, and hands-on way.
Artist Bio
Young Audiences National Artists of the Year in 1999, Freestyle Repertory Theatre (FRT) is dedicated to the whimsy of the audience and the visceral thrill of actors flying without a script. Since 1982, FRT has produced annual seasons of improvisational theater throughout New York City. FRT fields a roster of about 30 TheatreSports team members and has a repertoire of more than 100 improvisational games. FRT performs TheatreSports before 50,000 schoolchildren a year in tri-state area schools.
